At this year’s International Medieval Congress in Leeds (UK) taking place from July 6 to 9, 2026, IMAREAL will be represented with two sessions and a reception:

- Heike Schlie: Intermateriality and Iconology of Technique: The Bronze Door of San Zeno in Verona (Section: Intermateriality II, Tuesday, 7 July 2026 | 4:30-6:00 PM BST)
- Isabella Nicka: Differentiations in Wood: Depictions of Grain Patterns in Late Medieval Book Illumination (Section: Intermateriality II, Tuesday, 7 July 2026 | 4:30-6:00 PM BST)
- Reception des Instituts für Realienkunde des Mittelalters und der frühen Neuzeit (Wednesday, 8 July 2026 | 7:30-8:30 PM BST)
Starting in September 2026, Elisabeth Gruber will take over as coordinator of the “Daily Life” strand, joining the IMC Leeds Programming Committee. She will succeed Gerhard Jaritz in this role, a well-established member of the IMC Committee and former member of the IMAREAL.
The “Daily Life” strand is dedicated to the repetitive, routine, and everyday aspects of life. It focuses on comparative and context-boundapproaches towards the quotidian patterns of different social groups, in various domains of material and non-material culture.
